Kelly Osbourne
Kelly Osbourne was born on October 27, 1984 in London, England and is the daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon Osbourne.
Fashion-conscious Osbourne is part of a crop of young performers in the early 2000s who have revitalized the soft-core punk scene. Their combination of pseudo-punk outfits with an anti-authoritarian attitude (similar to Cyndi Lauper's persona in the 1980s) seems to reflect a movement out of the popularity of strictly pop music into an interest in rock and roll. Osbourne first rose to acclaim in The Osbournes, a reality TV series about her famous family.
Her debut album Shut Up! was released in 2002 to moderate sales, fueled mostly by a cover version of the hit Madonna song Papa Don't Preach. The album was met with fairly good critical reviews. She later recorded a duet with her father of Changes, a Black Sabbath song. The duet hit #1 on the UK charts, a first for Ozzy and Kelly. Shut Up! was repackaged with this duet and a few live cuts and rereleased under Changes. Sales did not improve.
On April 4, 2004, her parents admitted that Kelly went into a re-habilitation center to fight an addiction to pain killers.
She is currently residing in Vancouver and co-starring in Life As We Know It on ABC, a high school teen drama.
