Keebler Company

(Redirected from Keebler)

Keebler, founded in 1853, is the second-largest cookie and cracker manufacturer in the country. Brands include Austin®, Cheez-It®, Chips Deluxe ®, Club®, Famous Amos®, Fudge Shoppe ®, Keebler®, Murray®, Plantation™, Sunshine®, Town House ®, and Zesta ®. Through its Little Brownie Bakers subsidiary, Keebler is also a leading licensed supplier of Girl Scout Cookies®.

Keebler icons such as Ernie Keebler and the Keebler Elves are among the most recognized characters in advertising.

The Elves, known for making Uncommonly Good® products in a "magic oven ", are among the best-recognized advertising characters in America. They symbolize dedication, generosity and hard work and use wholesome ingredients and a bit of magic to bake their Uncommonly Good® products.

The original Keebler "jingle" reads like this: "Man, you never would believe where the Keebler® Cookies come from. They're baked by little elves in a hollow tree. And what do you think makes these cookies so uncommon? They're baked in magic ovens, and there's no factory. Hey!" (Lyrics by Tom Shutter , copywriter, Leo Burnett, 1967).

In March 2001, Keebler Foods Company was acquired by Kellogg Company, the world's leading producer of cereal and a leading producer of convenience foods.
