Sheffield is a city and metropolitan borough in the north of England. The districts of the city vary widely in size and history. Many of the districts developed from villages or hamlets that have become absorbed into Sheffield as the city has grown. The boundaries of many of the districts are ambiguous, the City Council groups the districts into 28 electoral wards, which, in turn, are grouped into six Parliamentary constituencies.
