Batman: The Mystery of the Batwoman

Batman: The Mystery of the Batwoman is an animated movie based on the DC Comics character Batman and set in the same world as Batman: The Animated Series. This movie was released direct to video in the US in October 2003 and Britain in January 2004.

Created by the same developers of Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, the movie follows the time period of the Batman Superman Adventures . At this time, it seems a new hero has arrived but as the title suggests, it is a mystery to even Batman who Batwoman is. As the plot thickens, so does the mystery as Batman must figure out who Batwoman is and to stop the Penguin and Rupert Thorn, underground mobsters, from selling illegal weapons.

Bane also comes into the plot as the hired hitman to take out any person or persons in the way of business. Despite having Batman as a sign of justice, Batwoman shatters the name by taking out criminals with ruthless techniques. In fact, her morals such as saving lives do not even come into question. Batwoman's main focus is on illegal activity by the Penguin.

Batman, with Robin, set out to stop the Penguin and even Batwoman from making any mistakes as they take out the criminals. The newest gadget on display is a wind glider used by Batwoman that uses one of the most advanced technology seen in the Gotham City. Bruce Wayne, Batman's alter ego must also solve the crime as he meets the new lady of his life.

The plot stays true to what fans enjoy as the team including Alan Burnett and Paul Dini create the script and Kevin Conroy still plays the excellent voice of Batman. The movie is an excellent addition to the Batman library.
