Robin
The given name Robin was originally a diminutive of Robert, derived from Rob and the diminutive Old French suffix -in. It is nowadays used as an independent name. The alternative spelling Robyn is sometimes used. Though generally regarded as a boy's name, it is sometimes given to girls.
