The Kurdish anthem is called 'Ey Reqib'. It was written by the Kurdish poet Dildar in 1920, when he was in a jail in the Kurdistan province of Iran. Ey Reqib means literally 'Hey Guardian', but now-a-days it is usually translated into 'Hey Enemy'. Because of the two main-dialects of the Kurdish language, it could be sung in Kurmanji and in Sorani. The Sorani version is the original anthem.
