Willie O'Dea
Willie O'Dea (born November 1952), is a senior Irish politician.
Willie O'Dea was born in Limerick in November 1952. He was educated at Patrician Brothers College, County Laois, University College Dublin, Kings Inns and the Institute of Certified Accountants. O'Dea worked as an accountant before he was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fianna Fáil TD in February 1982. He has been re-elected at every subsequent election. O'Dea has served as Minister of State at the Department of of Justice (1992-1993), Minister of State at the Department of of Health (1993-1994) and since 2002 he has served as Minister of State at the Department of of Justice, Equality & Law Reform. In 2004 he was appointed Minister for Defence.
