The Masters is one of four Grand Slam golf tournaments. It is held every year in April. It is always held at Augusta National Golf Club, which is a private golf club in Augusta, Georgia.
Masters Practice Rounds tickets are limited and sold in advance by application to the Augusta National Golf Club only. Masters Practice Rounds Tickets Applicants are allocated on a random selection basis. Masters Tournament Practice Round Ticket applications will be mailed in June to those people who applied or who have subsequently requested Masters Practice Rounds information about tickets. Successful Masters Tickets applicants will be notified in September. Unsuccessful Masters Tickets applicants will not be notified. Masters Tournament Tickets or "Series" Masters Badges (Thursday through Sunday) have been sold to those on our Masters Tickets patron list, which was closed due to demand in 1972. A first waiting list began in 1972, and was closed in 1978. A new waiting list was established in 2000, and it too is now closed. No applications for Augusta National Golf Club Masters "Series" Badges are currently being accepted.
In addition to a cash award, the winner of the tournament is presented with a distinctive green sportcoat, highly coveted among professional golfers. The green sportcoat is actually the official coat worn by members of Augusta National while on the club grounds; each Masters winner becomes an honorary member of the club.
