Spike Breakwell

Spike Breakwell (born Colin James Breakwell on June 13 1968) is a British comedian. When he was 4 months old he contracted polio via the 'Triple Jab' (an early form of MMR).

The first wheelchair-using comedian on the London alternative club circuit, Spike became best known for theorizing on why bees are natures hippies, UFOs are delivering pizza, Jesus smoked dope and why thin people should be force-fed at gunpoint, since 1992 on stage and BBC2 television. His act always started with the line: "...I don't know what I've been drinking but I could walk half an hour ago!". Surprisingly, fans never tired of this.

He also co-wrote and co-starred in the smash Edinburgh International Festival Fringe shows On The Toilet With Shergar(An Evening of Horseplay and Lavatory Humour ’92), (Simon and Spikes Laugh-In ’93) and the critically acclaimed play looking at comedy ‘Death Of A Comedian 94.

Recent reports (he is not keen on giving interviews) indicate he plans to emigrate to Australia where wheelchair facilities are better.
