Southern California Edison, a subisdiary of Edison Internationl (NYSE: EIX), is the primary electicity supply company for most of the lower half of the State of California, the region known as Southern California, with the exception, primarily, of the City of Los Angeles served by the Department of Water and Power and the City of San Diego and surrounding regions which is served by San Diego Gas and Electric . The Northern part of the state is generally served by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company of San Francisco.
