The Saint Louis Zoological Park is a zoo in Saint Louis, Missouri. Admission is free, although there are fees for some attractions as it has many wide-open exhibits.
The 1904 World's Fair Flight Cage is one of the few structures that remains from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. In 1904, it was the largest birdcage ever built and is one of the world's largest free-flight aviaries. The 228 feet long, 84 feet wide, and 50 feet high cage was built for the St. Louis World's Fair, but self-satisfaction in the enormous aviary motivated St. Louis to finally establish a zoo, which is now ranked among the best zoos (particularly the best free zoos) in the world.
