Riyal

The riyal is the currency of Qatar (ISO 4217: QAR) and Saudi Arabia (SAR). The two currencies are kept close to parity: as of December 2004, one SAR equals 0.9707 QAR, while there are SAR 5.02 to the euro and 3.75 to the US dollar.

The similarly spelt rial is the official currency of Iran, Oman and Yemen.
