Cuisine of Quebec
(Redirected from Quebecois cuisine)
Traditional Cuisine
Most famous for its tourtière, pea soup, baked beans, ham dishes, ragoût of pig legs and maple desserts, Quebec's traditional cusine is today being rediscovered as rich and diverse as its immense territory.
Contemporary Cuisine
Contemporary Quebec cuisine is characterized by a creative use of all things native to the land which are then prepared following all contemporary trends of the world.
Famous products of contemporary Quebec cuisine include poutine. Montreal, in particular, is famous for its characteristic styles of bagels and smoked meat , both products of the many Jews who settled there in the early 20th century.
