Paul Quinn College is the oldest African-American liberal arts college in Texas. It was founded in 1872 in Austin, Texas, and was named after William Paul Quinn (1788-1873), the fourth bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The College is affiliated with the AME church.
Organized in Austin, the campus is now located in Dallas about a half mile west of Interstate 45 and two miles north of Interstate 20.
