Patterdale Terriers are tough little terriers bred mostly in England for killing fox and rabbits. In America they are often used as miniature gun dogs for hunting any type of game.
Appearance
According to breed standards at several all-breed registries , this terrier is to be no more than 380 mm (15 inches) tall and should weigh less than 8 kg (18 pounds). They are allowed in black, grizzle, chocolate, and black-and-tan. However, this breed is rarely shown and breeders are more concerned with the practicality of the breed than with outward appearances.
Another name for this breed is Black Fell Terrier.
