Nigel Godrich

Nigel Godrich (born in the UK in 1972) is a recording engineer and record producer. He is best known for his work with the English alternative band Radiohead. Nigel is sometimes credited as the "sixth member" of the band and is given much credit for his work in the Oxford band. His first contributions to the band were on the songs of My Iron Lung EP like "Permanent Daylight", "the Trickster" and "Lewis (Mistreated)". Then he engineered Radiohead's 2nd LP The Bends, co-produced "Black Star" from the same album and produced "Talk Show Host" ("Street Spirit" b-side and a fan-favourite). Since then he has been the permanent producer of every album of the band and, considering the band's success and undying popularity, Nigel Godrich deserves respect for defining the band's significant sound.

Nigel has also worked as engineer, producer or mixer, with Travis, Beck, Pavement, Air, Neil Finn, Natalie Imbruglia, Silver Sun, The Sundays, U2, and R.E.M.

He is currently working with the Band Aid 20, featuring collaborations from Supergrass' Danny Goffy, sir Paul McCartney, also Radiohead's members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, Blur's Damon Albarn, Oasis' Noel Gallagher, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Bono of U2 and many more.
