Multivision was one of the early, if not the first, commercial attempt at Picture-in-picture television. Consumers could buy the Multivision unit, which was sported a futuristic, "flying mushroom" motif, and place it between their existing television and antenna connection. The unit would output a signal with the secondary channel overlaid on the primary. The user would then use the tuners in the Multivision box to channel surf. Location of the secondary channel could be changed, too.
