Mirror Ball is an album by Neil Young and Pearl Jam. Young wrote all of the tracks, except for "Peace and Love", which was co-written by Young and Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder. Due to legal complications between their respective record companies, only Young's name appears on the sleeve, although the individual members of Pearl Jam are credited inside. The recording sessions yielded both the Young-fronted Mirror Ball, and the Pearl Jam-led two song E.P. Merkin Ball. The two releases complement each other both musically and in the layout and content of the album packaging.

Neil Young has often worked with other bands such as Crazy Horse and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Pearl Jam frequently perform covers of Neil Young songs live, including "Fuckin' Up" and "Keep On Rockin' in the Free World".
