Midland Mainline

Midland Mainline (MML) is a British train operating company, created after the privatisation of British Rail. It runs trunk services from London St. Pancras to the East Midlands and Yorkshire, on the Midland Main Line. It is based in Derby and owned by the National Express Group.

MML operates High Speed Trains that it acquired from British Rail. It ordered class 170 Turbostar DMUs which were later replaced by Class 222 Meridian units. Its original livery was teal, but as part of a corporate makeover, this was replaced with blue.

Named Trains include 'The Master Cutler' on the 0614 Leeds to St. Pancras, and 1715 St Pancras to Leeds return, 'The Midlands Express' on the 0705 Sheffield to St. Pancras, and 'The Robin Hood' on the 0630 Sheffield to St. Pancras via Nottingham, and returning as the 1655 St. Pancras to Nottingham.

Midland Mainline also operate to Scarborough during the summer on Saturdays only, with the service only operating to York on Sundays, and on other Saturdays all year round.

Midland Mainline also operate a Rail-Link Bus from the town of Corby to Kettering Rail Station.

The service provided from St Pancras is roughly half hourly for a Semi-Fast service to Nottingham and Derby, with some trains extended to Scarborough, York and Barnsley, and an half-hourly service from St Pancras - Leicester formed of Express services provided by the High Speed Trains, many of which run non-stop before continuing on to their final destinations which are normally Nottingham or Sheffield, however some do continue to Leeds, and some Nottingham services continue on to Sheffield via the Erewash Valley and a reversal at Nottingham.
