Mallakastėr (Albanian: Mallakastėr or Mallakastra) is a massive hilly complex in the southwestern part of Albania in the District of Mallakastėr. The people from this region are called Mallakastriotė. They do not speak a different dialect from other regions in southern Albania, but do have some small differences. A region that has produced a lot of brave fighters, but has been relatively poor during times due to the poor agricultural productivity of the terrain. Mallakastėr is an important region industrially for Albania since it has reserves of natural gas and oil.
