Loyd Grossman

Loyd Grossman (born September 16, 1950) is a Boston-born television presenter who mainly works in the UK.

Grossman graduated from the Boston University before coming to Britain to study at the London School of Economics. He went on to become a journalist. He has since presented Masterchef , a competitive cooking programme, and Through the Keyhole, a prurient programme examining the homes of minor celebrities. His Bostonian accent sounds jarring to many British people and is often parodied.

Grossman is also involved in charity work. He is particularly associated with the work of museums in the UK, being chairman of the Blue Plaques Panel , the Campaign for Museums, and the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association.

His 'name' has been lent to a number of cookery goods, particularly pasta sauces. As a brand, he is said to be worth many millions of pounds.

Note: According to the "Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, 1974-5", a Loyd Daniel Grossman, A.B., was elected Fellow of the society at their meeting of Monday 10 February 1975.
