Lída Baarová

Lída Baarová (September 14, 1914 - October 28, 2000) was a Czech actress

Born Ludmila Babková in Prague former Czechoslovakia she went to the actors conservatory in Prague and by the age of 17 she was starring in Czech productions. She is famous also for her time in Germany when she worked for Ufa films and embarked on an affair with Joseph Goebbels which displeased both his wife Magda and Hitler, the latter gave a stern warning to Goebbels. As a result of this affair she was told to return to Czechoslovakia where she continued making films. Later she moved to Italy to make films. After a long illness she died in 2000 in Salzburg, Austria.
