Kanggye is the provincial capitol of Chagang, North Korea. Because of its strategic importance, derived from its topography, it has been of military interest from the time of the Ri Dynasty (1392-1910).
Geography
It is located at the merging point of 4 rivers, the Changia, ?,? and ?.
Transportation
Consummation Railway and the highway connect to Pyongyang and other locations, making Kanggye a transportation hub. Near Kanggye is a military and civilian dual-purpose air station.
Culture
Kanggye University of Education is located in the city.
Places of tourist interest include Inphung Pavilion and Mountain Ryonhwa .
Industry
From 1945, because of a hyper plant is running, manufacturing industry developed rapidly. Haeju has lumber processing mill and ceramic factory.
It has mining industry producing copper, zinc ore, coal and graphite.
