Joshua Muravchik

Joshua Muravchik is a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research and an author. His undergraduate education was at City College of New York with a doctorate in international relations from Georgetown University. Although now considered a neoconservative, when young was National Chairman of the Young People's Socialist League from 1968 to 1973.

He has been an adjunct professor at the Institute of World Politics since 1992. He served on the Maryland State Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights from 1985 to 1997 and was a member of the Commission on Broadcasting to the People's Republic of China in 1992. He has been an adjunct scholar at the Washington Institute on Near East Policy since 1986. He was executive director of the Coalition for a Democratic Majority from 1977 to 1979. He is an editorial board member of the journals World Affairs and Journal of Democracy .
