The flagship of BBC Radio 4's history programs, it is a popular historical discussion program hosted by Melvyn Bragg, broadcasted mainly in Thursday mornings and evenings at 9am and 9pm throughout the year. Usually lasts for a 6 week "season" and appears appoximately three seasons in a year.
Broadcasted through internet http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/mp3.shtml, digital terrestial radio, normal FM and LW frequencies, it is also available as an mp3 file during the week of transmission.
The format is as follows: Melvyn Bragg describes the topic and introduces the visiting experts, usually two or three and they discuss the topic as a round-table .
In Our Time is also the title of a collection of short stories by Ernest Hemingway and a collection of cartoons and essays by Tom Wolfe.
