Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) is the urban research university campus of Indiana University located in Indianapolis, Indiana. IUPUI offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees from both Indiana University and Purdue University.
Academics
IUPUI is home to the Indiana University Medical Center. In this capacity, it hosts research on infectious disease, cancer, and degenerative disorders. It is also home to the Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis and Indiana University School of Dentistry .
Athletics
IUPUI's men's soccer and basketball teams compete at the Division I level in the Mid-Continental Conference.
Campus
The IUPUI campus, built in a former African-American neighborhood, is located just west of downtown near the Indianapolis Zoo , Downtown Canal Walk, and White River State Park. The zip code for the entire campus (excluding the old Herron buildings off 16th St. and Pennsylvania Ave.) is 46203. In 2004, new residence halls, the School of Informatics, and a new Herron School of Art were constructed on campus.

Notable Alumni
Alumni include former US Vice President Dan Quayle and the United States Senators Frederick VanNuys , Arthur R. Robinson , Samuel D. Jackson , and Dan Coats as well as Indiana governors Harry G. Leslie and Edgar Whitcomb.
