House of Sand and Fog is a 2003 movie adapted by Vadim Perelman and Shawn Otto from the novel by Andre Dubus III. It was directed by Vadim Perelman in his first directorial outing. The movie stars Jennifer Connelly, Ben Kingsley and Shohreh Aghdashloo.


An Iranian immigrant (Kingsley) buys a house at auction, which puts him in conflict with the house's previous owner (Connelly).

Awards

It was nominated for three Academy Awards, for Best Original Score (James Horner), Best Actor (Ben Kingsley) and Best Supporting Actress (Shohreh Aghdashloo).
