High Middle Ages

The High Middle Ages was characterized by a period of high vitality and energy.
The caloric intake of people greatly increased and death decreased. The High Middle Ages produced many different forms of intellectual and above all spiritual works. Many of the most beautiful Gothic Cathedrals were built or completed, and many nations formed many institutions which still exist today. In England for example, the Magna Carta was fashioned and the Exchequer was founded. Many other instituions were formed and all would come to lead to the Renaissance.
The High Middle Ages also marked the end of the Iberic Reconquista.
