Evergem is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Belzele , Doornzele , Ertvelde , Evergem proper, Kerkbrugge-Langerbrugge , Kluizen , Rieme , Sleidinge and Wippelgem . On January 1st, 2004 Evergem had a total population of 31,657 (15,560 males and 16,097 females). The total area is 75.04 km² which gives a population density of 421.87 inhabitants per km².
