Singaporean Eurasians are a small ethnic minority in Singapore. They are the descended from European men who married local women either in Singapore, or from Eurasians who came from Goa in India or Malacca in Malaysia. Some have Portuguese surnames, while some have Dutch or British ones.
Overwhelmingly Christian, most being Catholics, celebrating Christmas, Easter and Corpus Christi. They all speak English as a first language, the Portuguese creole once spoken now extinct. Unique to their culinary traditions are Devil's curry , Feng & Eurasian Smore. Most of them are found in the upper class of the Singaporean society.
Some famous Eurasian personalities include the late Dr Benjamin Sheares, President of Singapore, and former People's Action Party government Minister E.W Barker .
