Ethan Canin is an author. His published fiction includes The Palace Thief , a short story collection whose title story was made into the film The Emperor's Club, Emperor of the Air , another acclaimed short story collection, and Blue River (novel) and For Kings And Planets , both novels. Canin is also a physician and is on the faculty of the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop.
