Ernesto Cardenal
Ernesto Cardenal (born January 20, 1925) was one of the most famous liberation theologians of the Nicaraguan Revolution. He was also famous as a poet, and he still writes. After the Sandinistas ousted dictator Anastasio Somoza Debayle on July 19, 1979, Cardenal was appointed by the new government to be Minister of Culture.
