Eric Davis

Eric Keith Davis (born May 29, 1962 in Los Angeles) is a former outfielder for several Major League Baseball teams, most remembered for the years he spent with the Cincinnati Reds.

At his best, he was one of the most feared combinations of power and speed in recent baseball history; sadly, he was also highly injury-prone, never playing more than 135 games in any season. His injuries led him to retire after the 1994 season, but he came back in 1996. Early in the 1997 season, he was diagnosed with colon cancer, but came back by the end of that season after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor, followed by a round of chemotherapy. He finally retired for good in 2001.
