Emmanuel Petit (born September 22, 1970 in Dieppe, France) is a former football player. During his career he played for the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, and Monaco. He ended his playing career with English Premier League club Chelsea whom he left in the summer of 2004.

Petit has also played for the France national football team. He earned 63 caps in his career and won the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Football Championship.

After spending six months looking for a new club, Petit announced his retirement on January 20, 2005 when he found out he required a knee operation and would probably never regain full fitness.
