Emilio Pucci

Marchese di Basento Emilio Pucci ( November 20, 1914 - 1992) was an Italian fashion designer.

He was born in Naples, Italy and studied in both Italy and the USA eventually gaining a doctorate in political science by 1941. He was also a member of the Italian Ski team of 1934 and in 1947 was photographed wearing Ski Clothes. After this he began to create and sell clothes for women and opened his couture house in 1950 and he became famous for his use of bright colours and bold patterns. In addition to his life of fashion, Pucci was a well-known fascist and wrote a defense of the Mussolini regime as an undergraduate at Reed College. In 1965 he became a member of the Italian parliament. He is famous for his great patterns used in most of his collections. They are very colorful and became his trade mark. Shoes, skirts, dresses, pants, shirts, everything goes with those yellow, purple and pink prints.
