Eindhoven Airport is a small airport near Eindhoven, Netherlands. Its IATA airport code is EIN, and its ICAO airport code is EHEH.
The airport is being used for both civilian and military traffic. After World War II up until a few years ago, Eindhoven Airport was called Welschap.
During WWII it was extensively bombed. When construction started of the new Meerhoven district in the vicinity of the airport, a lot of bombs were found and had to be defused.
On July 17 1996, a C-130 Hercules plane crashed at the airport. The plane caught fire and in the intense heat, 34 people died.
KLM cityhopper, Ryanair, Corendon and Denim Airways fly scheduled flights into Eindhoven. Several holiday and business charter airlines also fly from Eindhoven.
