Douglas McKay

Douglas McKay (June 24, 1893 - July 22, 1959) was a Republican from Oregon. McKay first entered politics in 1935, when he was elected to the Oregon State Senate from the First District. In 1940, he was an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention from Oregon.

From 1949 to 1952, McKay served as Governor of Oregon. After resigning from that post, he was the principal delegate to that year's Republican Convention and appointed by Dwight Eisenhower as the United States Secretary of the Interior for his first term.

Douglas McKay is interred at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, Oregon.
