The District of Vlorë (Albanian: Rrethi i Vlorës) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 147,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 1,609 km². It is in the south-west of the country, and its capital is Vlorë. Other places in this district include Himarë, Orikum , Dhërmi , Cold Water , Palase , Kocul, and Selenicë . Vlorë is the closest point of the Albanian coast to the Italian peninsula. Vlora has a very beautiful coastline.
