The District of Kukës (Albanian: Rrethi i Kuksit) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 64,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 956 km². It is in the north-east of the country, and its capital is Kukës.

During the Kosovo War, hundreds of thousands emigrants ,that were forced out of their homes brutally by Serbian Army, came to Kukes to find a place where they could find a place to be safe from Serbs.
