The detrusor muscle is a layer of the urinary bladder wall made up of smooth muscle fibers arranged in inner and outer longitudinal layers and a middle circular layer. Contraction of the detrusor muscle causes the bladdar to expel urine through the urethra. Problems with this muscle can lead to incontinence
