The DSA Driving Theory Test is a test adminstered by the DSA which UK learners must pass to obtain a driving licence. There are two subtly different tests, one for car drivers and one for motorcyclists.
Format
The theory test lasts 40 minutes and involves answering 35 multiple-choice questions about a wide range of 'driving topics', such as car mechanics, the Highway Code and driving law. 30 of the 35 questions must be answered correctly in order to pass.
It is usually immediately followed by a hazard perception test. Having passed these two exams, it is necessary to pass a practical driving test in order to obtain a driving licence.
