County Galway (Contae na Gaillimhe in Irish) is on the west coast of Ireland. It is in the Irish province of Connacht. The county takes its name from Galway (Gaillimh), which is the county's capital. County Galway contains several Gaeltacht areas where the Irish language is still spoken.
