It is also said that Billie Jean was the name of a girl who sued Michael Jackson because he was the father of one of her twins.

On Friday, March 25th, 1983, Jackson first performed his signature dance move, the "Moonwalk" while singing this song at a Motown 25 celebration. The celebration was eventually aired May 16th on NBC.
