There were two Battles of Alcantara:

• Battle of Alcantara (1581) - Spain and Portugal are united when Spain, led by the Duke of Alva, defeats Portugal
• Battle of Alcantara (1809) - An inconclusive battle during the Napoleonic Wars (the Peninsular War)
