Armoured fighting vehicle
An armoured fighting vehicle is an armoured personnel carrier that is armed in such a way that its firepower can destroy its counterpart. Its armament is thus not only for self-defence, but also for the offensive role. As the firepower is the strongest in the squad, it is not only a means of transportation for infantry, but the actual basis of the squads total firepower.
An armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) is a military vehicle, equipped with protection against hostile attacks and often mounted weapons. Most AFVs are equipped for driving in rugged terrain.
