Yuriy Fedorovich Kravchenko (Ukrainian: Юрій Федорович Кравченко, March 5, 1951–March 4, 2005), was the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from 1995 until he was fired in March 2001. He was born in Olexandriya , Kirovohrads'ka oblast', Ukraine. He was found dead in his apartment near Kyiv, Ukraine on March 4, 2005. He was at that time called as a witness in an investigation into the murder of Georgiy R. Gongadze, a Ukrainian journalist who was abducted in 2000 and found decapitated several months later. It was claimed that Kravchenko committed suicide, but some news reports[1] have suggested his head had two gunshot wounds. (But cf Gary Webb.)
