Xingning (traditional Chinese: 興寧 simplified Chinese: 兴宁) is county-level city, under the jurisdiction of Meizhou, in the Guangdong province of the People's Republic of China.
Names
History
Xingning county was established in 331, and upgraded to a city in 1994.
Geography
Xingning is located at the east part of Guangdong province. The East River (Dongjiang River) and the Han River flow through it. Xingning borders Meixian, Fengshun , Wuhua , Longchuan , Pingyuan, and Xunwu of Jiangxi province.
Xingning is the second largest city in east Guangdong, with an area of 2105 km2 and a population of 1.13 million.
