Volksgerichtshof ("People's Court") is a court established by Hitler after the Reichstag fire to take away the treatment of treason and many other offenses from the more liberal Reichsgericht . The Volksgerichtshof became infamous for the enormous number of death sentences that it handed down while led by Roland Freisler.
