Việt Kiều is a Vietnamese term to describe overseas Vietnamese who left Vietnam after the Fall of Saigon. The term is usually used in Vietnam to refer to Vietnamese Americans and Vietnamese Europeans, either those who were refugees or were born outside of Vietnam. Viet Kieu is usually used towards Vietnamese Americans who return for visits or business.
