The Valiant was an automobile product of the Chrysler Corporation in 1960. While never a full fledged division of its own, the Valiant was in theory its own make for one year as a compact in the United States and two years in Canada where the name was applied to a full-sized car.

While best known as the Plymouth Valiant, the Valiant was introduced in the United States in 1960 as its own make. Chrysler advertised the Valiant that year as “Nobody’s Kid Brother” to indicate that the vehicle was not a compact car from any Chrysler division; however the vehicle was sold through Chrysler-Plymouth and Plymouth-DeSoto Dealer francises. In 1961 Chrysler merged the vehicle into the Plymouth line and renamed it the Plymouth Valiant.

In Canada, the Valiant name was applied to a full sized Dodge brand automobile with Plymouth trim, which was then sold as its own make for 1960-1961. Because of the parts sharing, the vehicle is considered a Plodge, a nickname applied to Canadian Chrysler vehicles that shared parts with other Chrysler products to produce unique cars for the Canadian market.
